Scrub-resistant shoulder blocks. Engineered for high-scrub trailer service, the Michelin XTE2 employs reinforced shoulder ribs with a higher-gauge compound and elevated abrasion index to resist lateral shear at roundabouts, yard turns, and docking manoeuvres. The stiffer shoulder architecture minimises micro-slip at the shoulder/road interface, reducing rapid feathering and tearing, while optimised groove radii lower stress concentration at rib edges. The outcome is measurably slower shoulder wear progression, more uniform wear patterns, and longer removal mileage, helping fleets cut cost per kilometre in demanding regional distribution.

Optimised contact footprint. A wide, flat crown profile paired with stabilising steel belt geometry delivers a uniform contact pressure map across the tread, mitigating heel-and-toe and diagonal wear common on trailer axles. By reducing peak contact stresses and evening out torque-induced shear, the XTE2 maintains consistent tread block support, which improves straight-line tracking and braking stability. The optimised footprint also lowers localised heat generation in the crown and belt edges, supporting both fuel-efficient rolling and predictable tyre performance to planned removal.

Cool-running tread compound. The XTE2 tread utilises a low-hysteresis polymer blend with optimised filler dispersion to reduce tan delta at operating frequencies, cutting energy losses as heat under sustained motorway speeds.
