Tyrewise is working across Aotearoa New Zealand to make used tyres a resource in our circular economy. The Tyre Stewardship Fee is collected to fund the future disposal of the new tyres that will be fitted.
At Advantage, we're committed to clear and transparent pricing. All tyre prices shown on our website apply to online purchases only and include fitting, balancing, a new valve, and the Tyre Stewardship Fee - things other tyre websites often hide! Maxxis HP-M5 Bravo delivers confident everyday performance for cars and SUVs. Its asymmetric tread and high-silica compound boost wet braking and cornering, while wide grooves clear water to resist aquaplaning. A rigid centre rib and strengthened carcass enhance straight-line stability and steering feel, and pitch-optimised tread blocks keep road noise low for a quiet, comfortable ride. Built for long tread life and solid fuel economy, the Maxxis HP-M5 Bravo is a smart upgrade when you want reliable grip, durability and value. Shop now and get your tyres fitted with confidence.
High-silica dual-phase compound. Maxxis engineers tune the HP-M5 Bravo with a functionalised S-SBR/BR blend and a high loading of dispersible silica coupled via TESPT, delivering a compound with a carefully balanced glass transition profile: elevated tan d at 0–10°C for wet µ enhancement and suppressed hysteresis at 50–70°C for reduced rolling resistance. The result is more micro-mechanical keying on wet micro-texture, shorter stopping distances in the rain, and cooler running on the motorway for improved fuel economy, all while maintaining abrasion resistance through optimised filler–polymer coupling and controlled crosslink density.
Asymmetric tread geometry. The HP-M5 Bravo features a continuous centre rib for linear on-centre feel, a high-land outer shoulder with reinforced tie-bars for lateral stiffness, and a higher-void inner zone with aggressive lateral notches to prioritise water evacuation. This asymmetric architecture, combined with a multi-radius mould profile, equalises contact pressure across the footprint, improving steering precision under load, resisting block deformation in high-g corners, and promoting even wear so you maintain consistent handling and life over the tyre’s service interval.
Four circumferential channels. Four wide, straight circumferential grooves interface with swept lateral evacuators and bevelled groove walls to accelerate water clearance and delay the onset of hydrodynamic lift. By sustaining a stable drainage path under footprint compression and minimising vortex formation at groove exits, the HP-M5 Bravo preserves a coherent contact patch on saturated surfaces, improving hydroplaning resistance at highway speeds and bolstering wet braking and lane-change stability in New Zealand’s variable weather.
Jointless spiral cap ply. A zero-degree, jointless nylon cap ply is spiral-wrapped over twin high-tensile steel belts to stabilise the carcass at speed and suppress growth-induced force variation. This construction damps standing waves, reduces ply-end stress concentrations, and locks tread elements to the belts for cleaner, more predictable transitions at the limit. The outcome is high-speed straight-line stability, precise feedback during emergency manoeuvres, and improved durability over rough chipseal thanks to controlled heat build-up and robust belt edge integrity.
Variable-pitch tread blocks. Using multi-order pitch sequencing and staggered block lengths, the HP-M5 Bravo distributes tread impact frequencies over a wider spectrum, shifting dominant harmonics away from cabin-sensitive bands. Interlocking 3D sipes and chamfered leading edges limit block squirm without compromising wet-edge density, reducing airborne and structure-borne noise while preserving bite. You get a quieter ride on coarse New Zealand asphalt, with sharper response and lower irregular wear for sustained comfort over the tyre’s lifespan.
