Built from off-road racing DNA, the Maxxis MT772M Razr MT is a go-anywhere mud-terrain tyre for Kiwi 4x4s and utes. An aggressive, deeply sculpted tread with staggered shoulder blocks and stone/mud ejectors delivers relentless traction in mud, ruts and rock, while tough reinforced sidewalls help resist cuts and punctures. A damage-resistant compound and rigid carcass add stability, tread life and a surprisingly composed ride on the highway. Tackle the back blocks, tow or tour with confidence—choose Razr MT for grip and toughness you can count on.

Armoured three-ply sidewall. Built with a robust three-ply polyester sidewall and a high, rigid bead apex, the Maxxis MT772M Razr MT resists punctures and sidewall splits under heavy off-road loads. The extra carcass reinforcement controls deflection when you air down, spreading the footprint for traction while maintaining casing stability and limiting heat build-up. This raises the tyre’s bruise resistance on rocks, protects the belt package from impact shock, and delivers steadier steering and towing behaviour on-road thanks to reduced sidewall shear and better lateral stiffness.

High-void tread geometry. An aggressive, high-void lug layout with deep lateral notches and scalloped shoulders drives powerful self-cleaning, keeping the contact patch free of packed mud and clay for consistent bite. Tapered groove walls and integrated stone-ejector features reduce stone drilling into the belts, preserving carcass integrity over sharp gravel. The multi-angle lateral channels evacuate water on wet seal, lowering local hydrodynamic pressure for improved wet braking by increasing the number of leading edges and maintaining a stable, high-friction interface.

Aggressive sidewall lugs. Wraparound shoulder blocks that extend onto the sidewall act as functional sidebiters, generating thrust and lateral grip when the tyre is aired down and the sidewall deforms against ruts, ledges, and roots. These protrusions add an extra protective layer over the critical sidewall zone, shielding against abrasions and pinch cuts while also helping guard the rim flange. The result is enhanced off-camber stability and traction in deep ruts and soft terrain, without sacrificing the MT772M Razr MT’s on-road tracking and steering precision.

Cut-and-chip resistant compound. A race-inspired, high-strength tread formulation combines premium carbon black with advanced coupling agents to increase tear energy and resist chunking on sharp rock, scoria, and coarse chip seal. The compound’s optimised polymer network controls hysteresis to limit heat generation at highway speeds, while maintaining elasticity at low temperatures for improved crack resistance. This chemistry helps the Maxxis MT772M Razr MT deliver longer usable tread life, retain lug integrity under high torque, and keep edges sharp for consistent off-road traction.

Variable-pitch tread blocks. Computer-optimised pitch sequencing across the centre and shoulder lugs disrupts harmonic resonance, reducing cabin drone relative to typical mud-terrains and improving day-to-day livability. The staggered block lengths and reinforced lug bases distribute contact stresses more evenly, mitigating heel-and-toe wear and lug squirm during braking and cornering. This gives the MT772M Razr MT a quieter, more composed road presence and more stable braking bite, while preserving the open voids and block articulation needed for serious mud and rock performance.
